fish tanks aquariums

A good freshwater aquarium heater is one of the most important tools that you can have in your tank.  Along with balanced pH and correct lighting and a good filter, that is .  It’s critical to have a heater that will maintain an even temperature in the tank.

Freshwater fish come from tropical waters that are warm, typically between 74 and eighty degrees Fahrenheit.  So it is important to have a stable temperature in your tank inside that range.  Your fish need to be in a cosy environment in order for them to flourish.  It’s important for their longevity for them to have stress-free living set up.

Heaters are used to keep the water temperature unceasing.  The temperature of the room that the aquarium is kept in will fluctuate, and heaters will keep that range more consistent, and your fish will be happier, more healthy, and flourish in your tank.

There are three main types of freshwater aquarium heaters that you will be considering when you set up your tank :

 Immersible or Hang-On Heaters

Immersible heaters are possibly the commonest sorts of heaters that are used.  Usually because they’re easily found.  And they are also inexpensive.

these types of heaters basically hang onto the back or side of the aquarium, dangling into the water.  There’s a temperature control that is kept above the water.  These types of heaters work absolutely fine and are really good for beginning aquarists.

Immersible heaters can be an eyesore, though, because you will spot them, and a few individuals do not like that.  A lot of folk like the heater to be concealed.  Luckily , there are other kinds of heaters to consider that aren’t as easily seen .

 Submersible Heater

Submersible heater means that you can submerse the whole heater into the aquarium.  The heater is completely sealed so it can be absolutely lowered into the water.  The great thing about these varieties of heaters is that they are subtle.  You can conceal them behind rocks or plants and you will not notice them.

Submersible heaters can be dearer than immersible heaters, but a few of them are quite cheap.  These varieties of heaters are far more trustworthy and can easily maintain a rather more consistent temperature in your tank.  They’re easy to use, slim–so that you do not see them as much, and comparatively cheap.

 Filter Heater

The filter heater is a really nice option to think about to maintain an even temperature in your aquarium.  It heats the water as it moves the water through a filter, so essentially achieves two things at once .  These heaters are far more pricey, but does hard duty because you won’t need a filter, too.

One of the big pluses of this kind of heater is that it is set up outside of your aquarium, so it doesn’t occupy space in your tank and you do not have to have a look at it within the tank!

if you are a beginning aquarist, start with the immersible heater, and then when you have done some research and gotten used to the options out there, move onto the submersible heater or perhaps the filter heaters.
