Switching From Wet Cat Food To Dry

I am a loving cat owner and I try to do what is correct for my cat. She’s continually liked wet foods but not long ago started to shun away from it. My partner and i wondered what on earth was wrong… could she have got a tummy upset perhaps or did she basically no longer enjoy the taste? A visit to the vets, which coincided together with her yearly shots concluded in the discovery that our beloved moggie had a large build-up of cavity enducing plaque and tartar on her teeth.  Moreover, her gums were so sore that they were practically on the point of bleeding! Needless to say, I was horrified. Our lovely kitty was off hear meals simply because she was basically in pain feeding on the stuff! Just what exactly can I do to rectify the problem? Well, the veterinarian recommended that she might have her teeth cleaned tomorrow by the vet nurse. On the other hand, he explained that this can be stressful for nervous kitties and never something that should be continued on a regular basis.

He offered me a 2nd solution, which if you ask me was much more straight forward and hassle-free; to change the meals I’d been giving from wet to dry. Now, I had in the past regarded dry cat food as an second-rate choice. After all, I don’t eat dried up meat so why should my moggy? Nonetheless, it turns out that a high quality dry cat food is in fact much healthier for your pussy-cat as opposed to food you can get out of a tin or aluminum foil pouch. The abrasive character of dry cat food actually works like a little tooth brush inside your cat’s mouth.

And so, I snapped up a big sack of dried poultry food and headed home. I was unclear about how my cat would react but since she had had a good dose of painkillers and a really empty tummy she barely seemed to notice the difference. In fact, she gobbled down the whole dish.  I have continued her on the dehydrated foods and now have located a fantastic manufacturer that produces a product loaded full of meats (kittens and cats require greater levels of protein than dogs). Today, whenever I have her teeth checked the reaction is good. They are much cleaner compared to before and the moggie is significantly happier, hence it is dry food for our cat from today on.
