The Challenge of Getting a Pet Dog

There are many people in this world who love pets.  I am unquestionably one of those people.  I grew up having pets of every kind.  However , my favorite pet is a dog.  I had a couple of dogs growing up and my parents have two of them now.  My husband doesn’t like pets though, so we don’t have any unfortunately.  I just have to live vicariously through other people who have dogs or other pets .

I guess there are a lot of factors you have to consider if you want to get a dog.  Not only do you have to pay for the initial cost of the dog, but you also have to pay to get shots for it and to get it spade or neutered.  You have to pay for their dog food, which a lot of people now pay for the more expensive kind of food.  Of course, there are the vet bills that you will have to pay on random occasions , so that’s not fun.  Making sure they have their pet flea medicine is another job. You have to clean up their waste and buy them toys that they end up destroying. Those are all the negatives though, so let’s talk about the pros of having or getting a dog.

There are a lot of great factors about having a dog.  To me, all of the cons of getting a dog don’t mean a thing when compared to the pros .  They are a unvarying companion and ally.  They are constantly there for you no matter what.  They are so much fun to play with and have around.  They love to snuggle, which is definitely my favorite part about dogs .  They are always so happy and that just makes you even more happy .  Not to mention that they are each so cute and have their own personalities.  Maybe one day I’ll be able to talk my husband into getting a dog.  For now , I’ll just enjoy my friends and family’s dogs and pets.
