Cat Memorials

Some people view cats as aloof and independent, but for those of us who have owned one, we realize they can be in the same way loving and affectionate as dogs.  A bond of a cat and its owner can be explained as that relating to losing that feline friend could be in the same way painful as losing someone you love.  In the end of our friend’s life, we can be reminded how much of a gift life is-particularly the life of a pet-as well as for many of us, it makes us desire to pay tribute somehow, to assert our appreciation for the joy our cat brought us in life.  Ideas of cat memorials are defined below:

* A simple graveside ceremony.  A simple graveside ceremony doesn’t have any rules, meaning, it could possibly comprises anything that is meaningful to the people who will be saying their goodbyes.  For a few, this sort of memorial would be enough, however for others, it would not justify losing along with the gratitude they feel.

*Cremation.  Having a simple ceremony, place it within an urn or scatter in a special place; you can do any of these using a cat’s cremains.  This carries more meaning for some than a burial, but for others, it only serves as a reminder of what is lost.

*A Customized Jewelry. One of the options of cat memorials, one might not consider jewelry but some people choose placing portions of the pet’s fur or ashes into the locket, or include some ash in a form of glass or jewelry. For them, this jewelry could be the focal point of healing; enabling them to carry a visual memory of their feline friend; yet for others, it could possibly increase their grief.

*A box of memories.  This box can be as simple like a small chest full of sentimental reminders, or might be made for display containing the pet’s favorite toy or perhaps a clipping of fur.  Some might find this helpful, but others may feel it is just extending the grieving process.

There’s another inspiring option for memorializing our feline friend: including the remains in a piece of art.  The reasoning behind this is that while other visual focal points point out death, the right kind of artwork would bring joy and inspiration, reminding us of life.  One artist has had this to heart, quite literally, by creating a set of limited-edition heart-themed prints specially made to give gratitude to our pets.  The artist hand-finishes a picked print having a final coat containing the cat’s ashes or fur, making each piece a true original.  The artwork can be a museum-quality giclee print, discreet and ideal for public display.  For some people, this type of action has been the best option among the options for cat memorials, since it can serve as an expression of gratitude for that life of that special friend-and helps heal the grief in the process.
